Palliative & Comfort Care

Comfort, dignity and company, at home.

For families caring for someone with a serious or advanced illness who wants to be at home. A senior Diagnex nurse works with the treating team to keep them comfortable, and makes sure the family isn't carrying this alone.

A nurse rests a reassuring hand on an older person’s hand in a home bedroom.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You want them at home, but you're not sure you can manage.
  • Pain or breathlessness is hard to watch and harder to judge.
  • Nobody has explained what to expect, or what's normal.
  • The family is exhausted, and nobody says it out loud.

At each visit

What our nurse does, every time.

Comfort care is delivered by senior nurses. Visits are usually longer, and shaped around what the family needs that week.

Comfort first

Prescribed medicines, including pain relief, given exactly as the treating team has ordered.

Skin and mouth care

Positioning, skin care and mouth care to prevent sores and the discomfort nobody warns you about.

Symptoms recorded

Pain, breathing, appetite and alertness written down and shared with the treating team so the plan keeps up.

Practical dignity

Small things done properly — clean bedding, a comfortable position, a room that doesn't feel like a ward.

The family supported

What to watch for, what's normal, when to call, and permission to rest.

Coordination

Doctor reviews, medicine supply and equipment arranged so the family isn't making calls all day.

Working with your doctor

The treating team decides. We carry out their plan at home.

Pain relief and every other medicine belong to the treating doctor or palliative team. Our nurse makes sure their plan is followed accurately at home, reports honestly on how it's working, and asks for a review when it isn't.

How care unfolds

What families tell us matters most.

An illustrative example, not a real patient.

Being told the truth

Clear answers about what's happening, without euphemism and without false hope. It's the thing families thank us for most often.

Not being alone at 2am

Knowing what to do, what's expected, and who to call means the worst hours are survivable.

Being allowed to be family

When a nurse handles the clinical work, a daughter can go back to being a daughter rather than a full-time carer.

Plans and prices

Palliative and Comfort Care is added to the visit plan that suits your situation.

Comfort care is usually daily, and is always shaped around the specific situation rather than a package. Where a continuous presence is needed, we arrange it through Diagnex Nursing and Caregiver services alongside your nurse.

Comfort care, daily visits

Daily visits with a senior nurse, longer where needed, with the treating team kept informed and the family supported. Every plan is shaped individually after the home assessment.

Caring for someone younger?

Palliative care has never been an age category. Serious illness arrives at every age, and a young family facing it needs more support, not less — including children in the house who need someone to explain things honestly.

There's no age condition on this service. Call us and we'll talk about the situation you're actually in.

Your questions

What families ask us first.

Can someone be there through the night?

Where a continuous presence is needed, we arrange it through Diagnex Nursing and Caregiver services, with your nurse and supervisor still running the clinical side. We'll discuss what's possible in your area on the call.

Who decides on pain medicines?

Always the treating doctor or palliative team. Our nurse makes sure their plan is carried out at home and asks for a review when it isn't controlling symptoms.

Is this hospice care?

No. We are a home nursing service working alongside your treating team. If a hospice or specialist palliative service is involved, we work with them rather than replacing them.

Can you help us understand what's coming?

Within honest limits, yes. Our nurse can explain what's usually seen and what to prepare for. Prognosis itself belongs to the treating doctor.

What if we can't manage at home after all?

That's a legitimate decision, not a failure, and we'll help you make it rather than talk you out of it.

Is it available in my area?

We operate across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Kolkata and Howrah. Senior nurses are assigned by locality, so we confirm availability on the free call.
